Columbia Power, Cable TV Middle Tennessee Two-way Inc.

March 1, 2003

Many public utilities are looking for other sources of revenue. The Columbia Tennessee Power and Water is entering the Cable Television business and Middle Tennessee Two-way was there to help by installing the off-the-air receiving antennas on their communications tower. The Yaggi antennas are used to pull in the weak television signals from Nashville. The antennas seen in subsequent pages are used to provide basic cable television reception to the subscribers. The signals are taken from the tower on Reservoir Hill to the main office on Pickens Street in Columbia by fiber optic cable and then onto the customers by a series of overhead and underground cables. An interesting feature is four small television cameras which we installed at the 180 level on the tower giving a three-hundred sixty degree view of the surrounding area.
